Forming a Culture of Vocations

Talk by Rick Sarkisian, Ph.D.

In this presentation, author, rehabilitation counselor and inspirational speaker Dr. Rick Sarkisian uses humor and anecdotes to explore how to form a culture of vocations within the Church. He exhorts listeners to foster a greater awareness of one’s personal vocation and mission…that God has a unique, unrepeatable plan for each of us, and that discovery of this plan is the only way to find true meaning and purpose in life.

Drawing from his 30+ years as a vocational consultant, Dr. Sarkasian demonstates how believers can foster vocations by encouraging a greater reflection on “life’s essential values.” He offers concrete suggestions to do this in families, schools and parishes.

Dr. Sarkisian is convinced that it is only by moving beyond the “function” mentality to the “Lifework” view of personal call that we can completely surrender our lives to Christ and let Him work in and through us as living witnesses to God’s loving presence in our homes, parishes and community.
