The inspiring true story about an idealistic priest, Fr. Joseph Verrett, and the black prep-school squad he coached in 1965 New Orleans that challenged the social order in a powerful story of an era-changing game that matched Verett's talented players from St. Augustine High against the undefeated championship all-white team from Jesuit High. It's the first time they have played a white school in their history as segregation laws did not allow it. Emmy Award winning Andre Braugher gives an outstanding performance as the brave priest who takes on the system by garnering the pivotal climatic championship basketball game that led the way to integration in today's sports. Excellent basketball sequences are matched by superb acting from Rip Torn, Ruby Dee, Bill Nunn and the whole cast.
