USCCB Conformity
The Ad Hoc Committee to Oversee the Use of the Catechism, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, has found this catechetical text [The Faith and Life Series] to be in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
The Faith and Life series was the first catechetical series to be found to be in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church without any need for change. That was several years ago now, when the USCCB implemented the rules of conformity.
We are pleased to inform you that all the texts of the current, Third Edition of the Faith and Life series that have been reviewed by the USCCB's Subcommittee on the Catechism have been found to be in Conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This includes all Student Texts for Grades 1-8 as well as the new Teacher's Manual for grades 2, 5 and 6. The other grades are still under review as they were submitted at a later time.
Copies of the Faith and Life Third Edition series printed in 2011 (copyright 2011 without a print date) are considered in conformity with a few specific textual changes. Changes to the Student Text are listed here. Changes to the Teacher's Manual are listed here.
All copies of the Faith and Life Third Edition series printed in 2012 or later are in conformity without any changes.
